Abstract:
ACI 350R recommends that the maximum ratio of water to cementitious materials in concrete be 0.45. The word "should" is used now because the report is advisory; however, ACI Committee 350 is in the process of writing a code. When that code is adopted, the 0.45 water-cement ratio will become mandatory. This article explains methods to use to cope properly with this maximum ratio.
