Abstract:
Virtually all common cast-in-place shell types have been built also as precast shells. Ample experience exists with such forms as precast long and short barrel shells, with elliptic and hyperbolic paraboloids, with spherical domes, with corrugated cylinders and, of course, with precast folded plates.
