Abstract:
When completed in 2009, the 92-story Trump International Hotel and Tower® in Chicago, IL, will be the tallest reinforced concrete building in the U.S. and the tallest building built in North America since the completion of Sears Tower in 1974. In this article by the structural design team for the project, the authors describe the core and outrigger structural system, movement of the building under wind loads, and use of high-performance concrete.
