Abstract:
Shotcrete has been incorporated into the International Building Code (IBC) for many years but was not expressly covered in the ACI 318 Code. Conversations between ACI and International Code Council staff indicated that it would be possible to delete the shotcrete provisions from the IBC upon satisfactory incorporation of shotcrete into the ACI 318 Code. Thus, ACI Subcommittees 318-A and 318-B worked for 5 years to successfully include shotcrete into ACI 318-19.
