Abstract:
In February 1988, Concrete International published Dan Falconer’s article on design and detailing of unbonded post-tensioned parking structures. In the current article, the topic is broadened by providing tips for designing of post-tensioned two-way slabs in buildings. Load balancing, minimum and maximum average prestress, tendon profiles, drop panels, design software, and restraint to shortening are discussed.
