Abstract:
The ACI/CRSI adhesive anchor installer certification program recognizes two methods for installing injection-type adhesive anchors: the end-cap method and the piston plug method. The article summarizes recent laboratory study on the performance of these two methods in a variety of installation conditions using two adhesives that have been assessed under ACI 355.4-11. Based on the results, the author recommends discontinuation of ACI certification on the end-cap method.
