Abstract:
The article discusses research performed by the Joint Transportation Research Program in West Lafayette, IN, USA. The study concluded that nano-titanium dioxide and two forms of colloidal nanosilica can accelerate the early-age hydration process of cementitious pastes, particularly those containing fly ash and cured at low temperatures; however, an excess of nanoparticles may reduce the scaling resistance of concrete.
