Abstract:
The four-span concrete Buhung Bridge, located in Gyeonggi, South Korea, was constructed in 1960 and has since been exposed to heavy traffic from a nearby military base. One span of the bridge was recently strengthened with post-tensioned, near-surface-mounted carbon fiber reinforced polymer rods. Dynamic load tests show that the stiffness of the span has been improved significantly.
