Mechanisms of Corrosion of Steel in Concrete
George J. Verbeck
Appears on pages(s):
alkali-carbonate reactions; alkali content; cathodic protection; cement pastes; chlorides; concretes; corrosion resistance; cover; cracking (fracturing); permeability; quality control; reinforcing steels; staining; water-cement ratio
The purpose of this paper is to present in an interpretative manner and as briefly as is consistent with accuracy those factors of design, concrete quality, and environment that affect the corrosion of steel in concrete and the resulting performance of the structure.
