Abstract:
To do quality concrete work one needs to have both a proper set of criteria for the levels of properties being sought and proper procedures to control the quality of what is done so that these levels are attained. Failure to realize that adequate quality for certain work or in certain regions may be either more or less restrictive than needed for other work in other places and ca result in excellent quality-control procedures being employed to produce highly uniform concrete to either wastefully expensive higher levels of quality than are needed or to lower levels than required to provide the desired service in use.
