Abstract:
Design procedures for creep and shrinkage effects of nuclear containment structures, which for the most part have no steel liners, are described. Alternative designs are discussed and the outcome is reveiwed in terms of reinforcement and wall-liner requirements. Practical considerations and construction details are highlighted in the context of specimen testing, concrete section analysis, and slipforming.
