Abstract:
The design and construction of the first diagonally braced concrete structure was described previously in Concrete International. In this follow-up, details are given of the behavior of the braced tube system, unusual features of modelling the structure for the computer analysis, and the construction process which allowed a normal three-day (and the possibility of a two-day) per floor construction cycle.
