Abstract:
During te past decade, confounding and conflicting procedures have developed in the nature and extent of repairs that are made to corrosion-damaged unbonded post-tensioned concrete. In our experience, we have observed considerable variations in the types of repairs performed on post-tensioned structures. The extremes have ranged from building owners completely ignoring the failure of post-tensioning tendons to engineers and contractors recommending complete replacement of post-tensioning systems when only minor corrosion is present.
