Abstract:
Roller compacted concrete (RCC) has been a known technology for paving since the early 1930s. In 1986, an RCC pavement was constructed at Burlington Nothern's inermodal hub facility in Houston, Tex. The pavement was a loading apron that enabled the freight cars to be loaded and unloaded by large, heavy, slow-moving forklifts.
