Abstract:
Cement-sand and cement-sand-lime mortars generally employed in masonry construction must be treated with special care during hot, dry weather. Tests conducted to determine the compressive strength, modulus of rupture, and bond strength under variable conditions of ambient temperature and relative humidity found a reduction in strength characteristics and service life due to the environmental conditions often encountered in the Middle East.
