Abstract:
A number of tests for assessing the strength of in situ concrete have been developed in recent years. Although some of these tests cause minor damage to the surface of the concrete, they do not generally impair the load-carrying capacity of the structure and may, therefore, be thought of as nondestructive. Research was performed at the Cement and Concrete Association to compare and evaluate some of these test methods and to determine their usefulness in assessing the strength of concrete in structures.
