Abstract:
Use of fiber reinforced concrete is gaining increas-ing importance in the building materials area. Hydraulic cements used in building materials are weak in tension, but with the addition of suitable fibers this difficulty can be overcome. This article discusses the benefits of using this material in flexure, shear, torsion, and columns. Applications, construction problems, and needed research are also discussed.
