Abstract:
Following a fire in a building constructed with reinforced concrete masonry bearing walls, a municipal building inspection department ordered all panels with spalled areas replaced. The load testing of all panels without spalling was also required. As a result, load tests on four panels were conducted, and, despite the intensity of the blaze, no structural remedial work was needed for the masonry walls and precast floor panels.
