Abstract:
Following a brief discussion of the principles of a system invented by the author, the system’s application in practice is considered. It is based on the use of falsework props with an elastic-plastic load deformation characteristic. While the system requires more sophistication in use, it offers advantages of cost and time savings and a much enhanced quality of floor slab. Ways of using the system are demonstrated by examining three examples covering the usual range of loading conditions in multistory building slabs.*
