Abstract:
While examining concrete deterioration to pier support beams and pile caps at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire, a contractor found unex-pected damage. What appeared to be minor damage turned into a major concrete restoration project using polymer-modified concrete on the piers exposed to sea water. Details of the repairs are discussed.
