Abstract:
Besides simple strength tests of standard 6 x 12 in. (152 x 305 mm) concrete test cylinders, there currently exist many testing procedures that can be used to determine the compressive strength of concrete. There are advantages and disadvantages to most of the procedures. These innovative testing procedures are described. Also, the direction of those testing procedures that will be used more frequently in the future is reviewed.
