Abstract:
This pictorial showcases the first computer designed concrete framed building, the University Club Tower in Tulsa, Okla. Built in 1965, this unusual multipurpose building combined high-strength concrete with lightweight aggregate to reduce column size and loading and foundation loads. Concern about side sway of the building prompted computer studies and ultimately resulted in its computer design.
