Abstract:
The paper reviews the past, present, and future of the methods of structural design of reinforced concrete sanitary engineering structures. The modifica-tions required to the conventional strength design procedures to limit maximum crack widths is explored in detail. Limitations of the crack width method of modified strength design are pointed out and a brief list of expected future changes in the design of reinforced concrete sanitary structures is given.
