Abstract:
In the fall of 1978, Etkin and Company of Southfield, Mich., committed itself to the construction and occupation of 540,000 sq ft (50,166 sq m) of office space in the suburban Detroit area by the fall of 1980. A totally precast concrete framing system was found to be the most cost-effective. A Cleveland precaster was to fabricate, deliver, and erect 4500 precast framing elements for a contract price of $3.2 million. The
