Abstract:
The design/build concept offers special advantages for tilt-up construction. Since the primary factor in the success of a tilt-up project is the efficiency and quality of the field operation, it is essential that construction techniques be carefully considered in all stages of planning and design. Tilt-up construction offers unique solutions to those special problems that could add considerable expense to conventional building methods. Design/build offers a bonus to the engineer as it is an opportunity to follow a project closely from conception to completion. [Author]
