Abstract:
The temperature hovered below zero F and the earth was frozen solid up to 9 ft deep. Yet, a ready-mixed concrete plant in Anchorage, Alaska, was built and in operation in only 6 1/2 months. Precast concrete was selected as the building material because of the frigid weather and accelerated construction schedule.
