Abstract:
New high speed TGV train bridge over France’s Rhone River is the first such bridge constructed from 838 prefabricated concrete segments. Beams were produced on site and the structure can withstand earthquakes and high winds. The new structure offers high speed train service to over forty cities in Southern France. New techniques for handling materials and pure white high strength concrete discussed.
