Abstract:
Based on the knowledge available in the literature, a method for the calculation of shear strength of structural walls is proposed. The method shows good correlation with numerous test results. The mean of test failure load/predicted failure load is 1.09 with a coefficient of variation of 12 percent. A numerical example illustrates the use of the method in the design of structural concrete walls subjected to inplane vertical and horizontal forces.
