Abstract:
As elevated temperatures of the ambient air and the concrete, together with low relative humidity and wind velocity can cause the contractor undue problems while placing and finishing concrete, so can these same conditions adversely affect the normal strength gain anticipated from test specimens fabricated for quality control purposes. It is vital to the continuing of the project that applicable practices and methods set forth by ACI and ASTM be followed closely. Storage facilities must be provided by the contractor for the sole use of the testing agency which maintains proper temperatures and moisture for this initial curing period.
