Abstract:
The results of laboratory tests are used to study the behavior after cracking of beams with four different cross sections and with limited prestress. Two possible methods of calculating the deflection are considered, and a formula is proposed for calculation of the width of flexural cracks. A numerical example is indluded to show how the prestressed and nonprestressed reinforcement is calculated for both methods.
