Abstract:
Since the early 1980s, both public and private owners of concrete structures, such as bridges and parking garages, have been faced with extensive repairs of damage caused by the corrosion of embedded steel due to salt ingress. The selection of the most appropriate repair methods and materials can have a substantial impact on the present repair cost, as well as future maintenance and ongoing repair costs. Two parking garages were repaired in 1988 using similar repair methods and materials, and the structures were monitored for ongoing delamination on an annual basis.
