Abstract:
High-strength concrete has been used in columns of high-rise buildings for many years. In some cases, high-strength concrete was selected for its modulus of elasticity. High-performance concrete is currently being used in demonstration bridges across the United States. In these applications, the goals are durable concrete, economical construction, and economical maintenance. The definition of high-performance concrete now includes many properties in addition to strength.
