Abstract:
This article presents four case histories of the evaluation of concrete facilities: (1) the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Washington, D.C.; (2) the Manayunk Bridge, Philadelphia, Pa.; (3) the George Rogers Clark Memorial, Vincennes, Ind.; and (4) Buckingham Fountain, Chicago, Ill. These histories are not unique because of the evaluation methodology used; however, the facilities are, and their evaluation and repair are worthy of study because of their historical significance. The evaluation methodology is described, as are the findings and summaries of repair approaches.
