Abstract:
The results of tests conducted on 41 concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns are reported. The primary test parameters were load eccentricity and column slenderness. The eccentrically loaded circular columns were bent into single curvature or double curvature. High- strength steel tubes with a yield strength exceeding 400 MPa were filled with 58 MPa concrete for the columns in the single curvature tests and 96 MPa concrete for those subjected to double curvature bending. The test results demonstrate the influence of column slenderness and load eccentricity on the strength and behavior of high-strength CFST columns.
