Abstract:
University researchers have developed a new precast concrete product for short to medium span bridges. The Nebraska Inverted Tee can span up to 36 m (118 ft) with a total structural depth of 725 mm (29 in.). This system offers a cost competitive and faster alternative compared to building a cast-in-place conventionally reinforced slab bridge. Field formwork would not be required. The system can be designed using conventional design methods.
