Abstract:
Links between the rheological properties of fresh concrete and casting processes via the use of numerical prediction methods are described. These powerful methods strongly contribute to bringing rheology from research and development into the field of practical application. The yield stress behavior of fresh concrete and its consequences on casting are presented. Simple methods allowing for the measurement of this parameter are then examined along with numerical simulations techniques allowing for the practical prediction of casting processes.
