Abstract:
Author asserts that cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete is in danger of being replaced by other structural systems because of lack of quality in placing, finishing, and curing the concrete, in placing the nonprestressed reinforcement; and in fabricating, shipping, handling, installing, and protecting the post-tensioning tendons. If it is to survive, the industry must change its ways.
