Abstract:
Coastal flooding-induced corrosion can shorten service life and decrease the capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) structures. This research experience for undergraduates (REU) project collaboratively investigated the effects of corrosion on the capacity of coastal RC structures through inventory analysis of a testbed site exposed to saltwater flooding, accelerated corrosion testing, and sectional analysis that considered rebar mass loss.
