Abstract:
Ultra-high-performance concretes are widely criticized due to the high cement dosages, an aspect that runs counter to current trends in concrete technology to mitigate concretes ecological impact. This paper presents the experimental results of a vitrified clay substitute for Portland cement, silica fume and aggregate in the production of ultra-high-performance concrete without detracting compressive strength, static modulus of elasticity, flexural strength, and leading to significant reductions of the embodied CO2.
