Abstract:
This article, the fourth in a five-part series on calculating deflections using a new expression for the effective moment of inertia Ie introduced into ACI CODE-318-19, provides a deflection example. The example follows the procedure outlined in Part 1 to compute the deflection of reinforced concrete (nonprestressed) one-way slab with both ends continuous.
