Abstract:
Describe the code change proposals being considered for the 2027 International Code Council and National Fire Protection Association model codes. Current code cycles are addressing provisions related to the energy, fire, and structural performance of concrete. New proposals are intended to clarify and add new provisions to the model building codes. The model building codes serve as the basis for most codes adopted and enforced by authorities having jurisdiction. This is a crucial part in code development wherever the model codes are sued as the basis for the building codes, especially in North, South, and Central America, the Middle East, and many areas of the globe.
