Abstract:
In order to determine the concentration of sulfates and sulfides in powdered concrete samples, wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WD-XRF) is used in combination with elemental analysis of totla sulfur. The presentation captures the development and derivation of calibration curves and their application for analyzing concrete foundation samples. Based on the results of more than 150 houses and their statistical analysis, some insights are being shared on the effect of the amount of pyrrhotite on the amount deterioration observed.
