Abstract:
Catherine Lucero and Kyle Riding will jointly present the work performed for the paper “Effect of Slag Characteristics on Adiabatic Temperature Rise of Blended Concrete.” Kyle will provide a brief overview of the motivation for the work and background, Catherine will describe the testing program conducted to measure the adiabatic temperature rise of concrete containing limestone fines and/or slag cement, the results of the adiabatic calorimetry testing, and Dr. Riding will describe modeling done to develop new adiabatic temperature rise curves for concrete mixtures including Type IL cement, and the benefits of using slag in mass concrete, especially for smaller structural mass concrete members.
