Abstract:
Surface applied colloidal silica has demonstrated the ability to refine pore structure as evidenced by changes in permeability. Chloride diffusion (ASTM C1556), chloride migration (NT Build 492), water vapor transmission (ASTM E96), and resistance to water under hydrostatic pressure (EN 12390-8) are discussed. Implications are assessed as results relate to concrete durability.
