Abstract:
Designers apply measures and features in contract documents that are intended to minimize the potential for, and control locations of, cracking. Contractors execute these measures in constructing concrete elements. These measures may not always be consistent with other project demands such as schedule, sequence, and/or cost. The risks of cracking must be measured against the benefits of omitting/deleting these measures/details to minimize/control cracking.
