Abstract:
Chemical admixture development has been and continues to be a vital part of the concrete industry. Especially with the use of polycarboxylates, admixture formulations have been key in retaining slump until discharge of the concrete. With the advent of IoT (Internet of Things), concrete trucks are now available with in-transit management systems which can measure, monitor, and manage slump during delivery through on-board water and admixture additions. This means that a combination of chemical and mechanical approaches can achieve deliveries where only the necessary amount of admixture is used, every time. Case studies will be presented to demonstrate current findings.
