            Abstract:
The origin of bottom ash in coal-fired electricity generation and its occurrence in harvested ash was reviewed. The pozzolanic reactivity of a bottom ash ground to different average diameters was evaluated. Lab concrete mixtures achieving the desired properties for bridge deck, pavement and foundation applications were successfully developed using 4 different coal ashes, including bridge deck, pavement and foundation mixtures using 20% ground bottom ash. The fresh and hardened properties of the lab concrete mixtures are compared.
