Abstract:
Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is emerging as a game-changing technology for infrastructure applications. However, due to its proprietary nature and related costs, UHPC technology has not seen widespread adoption in the United States. The article summarizes the history of UHPC, discusses the components of open-recipe UHPC, and makes the case for broadening the use of this technology in the United States.
