Abstract:
The first Aalborg kilns in the United States were constructed by the Coplay Cement Company, Coplay, PA. Eight of those kilns, the only remaining examples of Aalborg kilns in the United States, are still standing in Lehigh County’s Saylor Park. The article discusses the how those kilns fit within the history of cement production in the United States.
