Abstract:
High strength ready-mixed concrete was used on the job in Seattle, Wash. The design strength of the concrete was 14,000 psi (96.5 MPa), and the actual strength achieved was measured at 18,000 psi (124 MPa). Various methods for testing and production had to be researched and modified to accommodate this very high-strength mix.
